ISLAMABAD: Foreign ministers of 14 Islamic and Arab countries including Pakistan have strongly condemned recent statements made by the US ambassador to Israel, describing them as a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. The joint communiqué emphasized that suggesting control of Arab territories, including the occupied West Bank, by Israel poses a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
The statement was issued collectively by the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine. It was further endorsed by the secretariats of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Arab League, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Regional unity on international law
Officials noted that the remarks undermine long standing principles governing occupation and sovereignty and could exacerbate tensions in an already fragile region. The collective response underscores the commitment of these states to uphold international legal frameworks, protect Palestinian rights, and preserve regional stability. Analysts suggest that Islamabad’s participation highlights Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement on key issues affecting the Muslim world.
