Indian Air Force Su-30MKI Fighter Jet Crashes in Assam, Pilots Missing

Tejas Crash in Dubai: A Breaking Point for India’s Indigenous Fighter Program

A fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force has reportedly crashed in the forested region of Karbi Anglong district in the state of Assam. According to official confirmation from the air force, a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet went missing after it suddenly disappeared from radar during a routine operation. Authorities confirmed that the aircraft lost contact shortly before reports of a possible crash in the remote hills of Karbi Anglong emerged.

Military officials stated that the jet was part of a regular operational mission when the communication breakdown occurred. Soon after radar contact was lost, emergency protocols were activated and search operations were initiated to locate the aircraft and its crew.

Search Operations Underway in Dense Forest Area

The crash site is believed to be located in a heavily forested and mountainous part of Karbi Anglong, which has made rescue operations challenging. Teams from the Indian Air Force, along with local authorities and disaster response personnel, have been deployed to search the area.

The two pilots onboard the fighter jet are currently reported missing. Rescue teams are working around the clock to locate them and determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash. Due to the dense jungle terrain and limited accessibility, the operation is progressing cautiously.

Investigation Likely After Wreckage Recovery

Officials said a detailed investigation will be launched once the wreckage is located and recovered. The Sukhoi Su-30MKI is one of the most advanced multi-role fighter jets in the Indian fleet, and incidents involving such aircraft are taken seriously.

Further updates are expected as rescue teams continue their search efforts in the region.
