Afghanistan secured a T20I series victory over West Indies with a dominant 39-run win in the second match at Dubai on Wednesday. The result gave Afghanistan an unassailable 2–0 lead in the series.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman starred with the ball. He claimed four wickets, including a remarkable hat-trick, to lead Afghanistan to victory against the two-time T20 World Cup champions.
Rasooli and Atal Power Afghanistan to Strong Total
Afghanistan batted first after West Indies won the toss and elected to field. The Afghans slipped early to 37/2 inside five overs.
Sediqullah Atal and Darwish Rasooli rebuilt the innings with a commanding partnership. Atal scored 53 off 42 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes. Rasooli followed with 68 off 39 balls, including five fours and three sixes. Their 115-run stand shifted the momentum firmly in Afghanistan’s favor.

Mujeeb Dismantles West Indies in Run Chase
West Indies struggled from the start of the chase. The team slipped to 38/3 in eight overs. Mujeeb removed Evin Lewis and Johnson Charles in successive deliveries.
Captain Brandon King scored 50 off 41 balls, while Shimron Hetmyer blasted 46 off just 17 balls. Their 68-run stand offered brief resistance.
Mujeeb ended the fightback by dismissing King to complete his hat-trick. He became only the third Afghan bowler to take a T20I hat-trick, after Rashid Khan and Karim Janat.
West Indies collapsed to 150 all out in 18.5 overs. Mujeeb finished with 4/21, while Omarzai and Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed two wickets each.
