Casualty Figures and Military Targets
Pakistan has stated that “Operation Ghazab lil-Haq” has resulted in the killing of 415 Afghan Taliban fighters and injuries to more than 580 others amid ongoing cross-border clashes. According to official claims, security forces have destroyed 182 check posts and struck 46 locations inside Afghan territory. Islamabad maintains that the operation was launched in response to sustained cross-border aggression and to protect national sovereignty.
Ongoing Border Tensions
The clashes involve forces associated with the Taliban, who currently administer Afghanistan. Both sides have exchanged accusations over the origin of hostilities, further escalating tensions along the frontier. Sporadic exchanges are reported to be continuing in certain sectors despite diplomatic signaling.
Global Calls for De-escalation
International actors have urged restraint and emphasized dialogue to prevent further destabilization. Analysts warn that prolonged confrontation could impact regional trade, border communities, and overall South Asian security dynamics. Diplomatic channels are reportedly being explored to contain escalation and restore calm.
