Military Leadership Reaffirms Commitment to National Security
Rawalpindi – 27 February 2026: On the seventh anniversary of Operation Swift Retort, Pakistan’s Armed Forces paid tribute to the courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of their personnel. In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the military leadership honored those who played a pivotal role in the landmark operation.
Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff; Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff; and Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, reiterated their unwavering commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Launched on 27 February 2019, Operation Swift Retort was described as a decisive response to India’s actions, demonstrating Pakistan’s operational readiness and joint-force coordination. The operation underscored the Armed Forces’ capability to deter aggression and restore strategic balance in the region.
The military leadership emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to regional peace while maintaining full preparedness to counter any threats. They reaffirmed that the Armed Forces will continue to ensure national security and contribute to global stability.
