Pakistan Strengthens Security and Counterterrorism Ties with Turkiye

Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, concluded a two-day official visit to Ankara, Türkiye, focusing on security cooperation, counterterrorism, and narcotics control. The visit reflects Pakistan’s proactive approach to regional security and its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships.

During the visit, high-level meetings and economic commissions discussed key areas, including trade, defence, and connectivity, building on ongoing efforts to deepen Türkiye-Pakistan ties. Pakistan leveraged Türkiye’s extensive counterterrorism experience against Daesh and PKK to enhance its own operational readiness against threats like Daesh and TTP, thereby boosting domestic resilience.

The engagement also highlighted the enduring strategic partnership between the two countries, reaffirming earlier commitments in defence collaboration, trade expansion, and infrastructure connectivity. Beyond operational cooperation, the visit reinforced the Pakistan-Türkiye brotherhood, rooted in shared Islamic values, mutual strategic interests, and coordinated efforts for regional peace and stability.

By emphasizing joint action against terrorism, narcotics trafficking, and transnational threats, the visit sends a clear message to the region of Pakistan’s unity and capability.
