Propaganda Alert: Taliban Networks Misattribute Video to Hamas

Fake Hamas Messaging and Taliban Deception

A video circulated by Taliban-linked social media accounts, falsely presented as a message from Hamas, has been exposed as manipulated propaganda rather than an authentic statement. Visual analysis of the footage reveals clear “TTP” identifiers instead of Hamas insignia, confirming deliberate misattribution aimed at misleading audiences. Hamas does not release official messages through anonymous or Taliban-affiliated online platforms, further discrediting the video’s authenticity.

Analysts note that this fabrication follows a familiar Taliban pattern of distortion and impersonation. By falsely invoking Hamas, Taliban propagandists seek to borrow legitimacy from the Palestinian cause while advancing their own extremist agenda. Such tactics rely on emotional manipulation and false attribution, but consistently collapse under basic verification. The episode underscores how Taliban-linked networks exploit sensitive global issues to incite sentiment and amplify misinformation.

Pakistan’s Position on Palestine Remains Unchanged

The circulation of this fake video has also been used to spread false claims about Pakistan’s role in regional discussions. Pakistan’s participation in Board of Peace deliberations was solely aimed at supporting efforts to halt civilian killings in Gaza. It did not involve, nor will it ever involve, participation in any military or security arrangement, including the disarmament of Hamas. Claims suggesting otherwise are baseless propaganda.

Pakistan’s principled stance on Palestine remains clear and consistent: support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds as the capital of an independent Palestinian state. This position has been reiterated across diplomatic forums and remains unchanged despite disinformation campaigns.

Observers also point to the Taliban’s contradictory behavior, including public denunciations of external powers while benefiting from foreign financial flows, and signals of openness toward relations with Israel alongside close ties with India. These inconsistencies further undermine their manufactured pro-Palestinian narrative, reinforcing that the video and related claims are part of a broader propaganda operation rather than genuine advocacy.
