The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar has strongly condemned the reported Iranian attacks targeting the United States embassies in Riyadh and Kuwait City. In an official statement issued from Doha on March 3, 2026, Qatar described the attacks as a blatant violation of international conventions and diplomatic laws. The statement emphasized that assaults on diplomatic missions directly undermine global diplomatic norms and international agreements that guarantee the protection and immunity of embassy premises and staff.
Qatar stressed that such actions not only threaten regional stability but also violate well-established international principles that safeguard diplomatic relations between states.
Violation of International Law and Diplomatic Norms
According to the statement, the attacks contravene international agreements that criminalize any form of aggression against diplomatic missions. Embassies are protected under international law to ensure peaceful engagement among nations, even during times of political tension. By targeting these facilities, the incident has raised serious concerns about security in the Gulf region and the broader Middle East.
Qatar reiterated the importance of respecting diplomatic immunity and called for adherence to international obligations to prevent further escalation.
Solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait
The State of Qatar affirmed its full solidarity with the Saudi Arabia and the Kuwait. Doha pledged support for any measures taken by both nations to safeguard their security, territorial integrity, and the safety of diplomatic missions operating within their borders.
