UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to Visit Pakistan on December 26

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will arrive in Pakistan on December 26, 2025, for an official visit, the Foreign Office confirmed on Wednesday.

This will be Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s first official visit to Pakistan since assuming office as the President of the UAE. Earlier this year, he met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Rahim Yar Khan in January, but that meeting was not classified as a state visit.

According to the Foreign Office, President Al Nahyan will hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his stay. The two leaders will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

The Foreign Office described the visit as a key opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding and brotherly relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. It said the visit reflects the depth of bilateral ties and the shared commitment to expanding cooperation in critical sectors.

Pakistan and the UAE enjoy close diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations. These ties are reinforced by historical links and a large Pakistani expatriate community in the Emirates.

The UAE remains one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners and a major source of remittances. Thousands of Pakistanis work across multiple sectors in the UAE, contributing significantly to its economy.

Trade, Investment, and Regional Engagement

Both countries cooperate in defence, energy, and investment sectors. The UAE has consistently supported Pakistan through financial assistance and humanitarian relief during difficult periods.

Earlier this year, Pakistan and the UAE signed multiple memoranda of understanding to expand cooperation. These agreements covered cultural exchange, consular coordination, and institutional business engagement.

One key agreement led to the establishment of the UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council. The council aims to promote private-sector partnerships and increase bilateral trade.

The Foreign Office said the visit will further strengthen economic collaboration and enhance coordination on regional stability.
