Woman Abducted in Balochistan as Authorities Launch Rescue Operation

A serious security incident was reported on Wednesday in Balochistan, where militants affiliated with the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) allegedly abducted a woman at gunpoint. Law enforcement agencies and intelligence services have been mobilised and rescue and investigation efforts are currently underway.

According to security sources, the incident occurred between approximately 4:30 PM and 4:45 PM in the Balcha area. A Corolla vehicle reportedly stopped outside the residence of a woman identified as Nargis. Sources indicate that she entered the vehicle, which subsequently departed the area.

Her husband and nephew later pursued the vehicle and managed to intercept it near Nasirabad city. At that point, an armed individual reportedly exited the vehicle carrying an automatic weapon. When the husband resisted and identified the woman as his wife, two additional individuals arrived on motorcycles and physically assaulted him. The assailants allegedly confiscated the mobile phones of both the husband and the nephew before taking the woman toward a nearby jungle area on the outskirts of Nasirabad.

District police authorities confirmed that the matter is being treated with urgency. The incident has been formally reported to all relevant intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and investigations are being conducted from multiple angles. Officials stated that further details will be shared as the situation develops.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Panjgur district, resulting in the elimination of three militants described as being sponsored by India.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on January 25 following confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of militants linked to an Indian proxy group referred to as Fitna-al-Hindustan. Among those killed was a local militant commander, Farooq, also known as “Soro.”

The ISPR stated that the militants were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region. A cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered during the operation.
