IMCTC Launches “Reintegration” Program in Pakistan to Counter Extremism

The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) is set to launch its flagship initiative for the Rehabilitation and Reintegration of individuals affected by extremist ideologies and terrorist behavior, titled “Reintegration”, next Monday in Islamabad, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The event will be held under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister of Defence, and in the presence of IMCTC Secretary General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, along with leading military, security, academic, and democratic figures.

The program, scheduled from 2 to 6 February 2026, is part of IMCTC’s strategic efforts to address the root causes of extremism and enhance preventive and ideological measures through structured rehabilitation and reintegration programs. It will specifically target specialists and practitioners engaged in counter-extremism work across member states.

Program Framework and Themes

The “Reintegration” initiative will cover key areas including the concepts of rehabilitation and reintegration, frameworks for program design, understanding terrorist crime, scientific foundations of social care, and challenges associated with implementing reintegration strategies. Participants will benefit from expert-led training sessions, panel discussions, and practical workshops designed to strengthen professional capacities in countering extremist ideologies.

The launch embodies IMCTC’s integrated approach across its four domains; Ideology, Communications, Counter-Terrorism Financing, and Military operations, while reinforcing its commitment to supporting member states in fostering societal resilience, enhancing security, and consolidating regional stability.The program marks a significant step in the strategic partnership between IMCTC and Pakistan, showcasing a practical and sustainable model for addressing extremist ideology and reintegrating affected individuals into society through institutional and scientifically grounded frameworks.
