Israel’s recent maneuvers to manipulate the Balochistan issue, as exposed by leading media investigations, represent a direct threat to Pakistan’s unity and sovereignty. The launch of the so-called Balochistan Studies Project (BSP) by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), an organization with documented ties to Israeli intelligence, aims not to liberate the Baloch people but to weaponize their genuine grievances for Israel’s regional agenda. This scheme, rather than supporting justice, distorts anti-colonial struggles to advance Tel Aviv’s hostile objectives against both Iran and Pakistan.
External Manipulation and Geopolitical Agendas
MEMRI’s latest project shamelessly identifies Balochistan’s rich natural resources and its key geostrategic location as tools to ‘counter and control Iran and Pakistan. ’ By framing Balochistan as an “ideal outpost,” Israel demonstrates its ambition to use Baloch narratives as a means to undermine countries that have never accepted its illegal occupation of Palestine. This strategy does not reflect solidarity with oppressed people; rather, it endangers the integrity and stability of Pakistan with foreign-engineered hybrid warfare.
Discredited Narratives and Foreign Alliances
A critical aspect of this operation is the use of questionable and discredited individuals like “Mir Yar Baloch,” a digital persona who has always uttered anti-state rhetoric widely rejected by legitimate Baloch activists as either fake or a puppet of foreign agencies. Investigations expose this figure as a mouthpiece chiefly serving Indian and Israeli propaganda. His public endorsements for India and anti-Pakistan rhetoric reveal a clear attempt to create confusion and chaos, rather than representing the aspirations of the Baloch people, who in reality seek peace and prosperity as proud citizens of Pakistan.
Israel’s real intentions can be gauged by its ongoing alliance with anti-Pakistan forces, notably its deepening ties with India, which has long manipulated the Baloch issue to destabilize the region. The Israel-India nexus, under the guise of supporting Baloch ‘liberation’, actively seeks to fragment Pakistan and fuel unrest in a province that rightfully belongs to, and is being developed by, the Pakistani state. This aligns perfectly with efforts to block pan-Islamic solidarity and weaken those nations that have always supported the cause of Palestinian freedom.
Hypocrisy and International Solidarity
It is deeply hypocritical for Israel to invoke the language of ‘liberation’ while it perpetrates one of the world’s gravest genocides in Palestine. International human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, have concluded that Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to genocide: tens of thousands of civilians, including over 13,000 children, have been killed in direct and indiscriminate attacks; entire neighborhoods have been wiped off the map; and starvation, disease, and systematic targeting of healthcare have rendered life in Gaza unlivable. Israel’s suppression of Palestinian identity and existence stands as a glaring contradiction to its claimed support of any national struggle elsewhere.
Pakistan has always stood for the rights of oppressed peoples, including the Palestinians, and will never let external powers hijack the legitimate aspirations of any group within its borders for their imperialist motives. The unity and territorial integrity of Pakistan are non-negotiable, and its Baloch citizens remain a vital part of the nation’s fabric, resilient in the face of foreign disinformation and steadfast against fractured identities manufactured from abroad. The so-called liberation projects led by Israel are nothing but cynical attempts to sow discord and provide cover for their own ongoing atrocities in Palestine. Pakistan and all conscientious states must expose and reject these toxic interventions
